Potential functional variants in AHR signaling pathways are associated with age at puberty in swine

چکیده
Puberty in female pigs is defined as age at first estrus and gilts that have an earlier puberty are more likely to greater lifetime productivity. Because predictive for sow longevity productivity, but not routinely measured commercial herds, it would be beneficial use genomic or marker-assisted selection improve these traits. A GWAS the US Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) identified several loci associated with pigs. Candidate genes regions were scanned potential functional variants using sequence information from USMARC swine population founder animals public databases. In total, 135 (SNP insertion/deletions) 39 genotyped 1284 phenotyped a validation sired by Landrace Yorkshire industry semen Agena MassArray system. O-31: AMH and AMHR2 Genetic Variants in Chinese Women with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency and Normal Age at Natural Menopause
Background To investigate the role of the anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) signalling pathway in the pathophysiology of idiopathic primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) and age at natural menopause (ANM) using a genetic approach MaterialsAndMethods DNA sequencing was used to detect the genotype distribution and allele frequency of the genes AMH and AMH receptor II (AMHR2) in 120 cases of idiopathic P...
متن کاملIs age at puberty associated with semen quality and reproductive hormones in young adult life?
The evidence is scarce on the association between age at puberty and semen quality. A cohort of 320 Danish men aged 18-21 years enrolled in the "Healthy Habits for Two" birth cohort provided self-reported data on pubertal indicators and delivered semen and blood samples. The results indicated an association between older age at pubertal development and lower semen quality and altered reproducti...
متن کاملSequence variants at 22q13 are associated with prostate cancer risk.
To search for genetic variants that are associated with prostate cancer risk in the genome, we combined the data from our genome-wide association study (GWAS) in a population-based case-control study in Sweden with publicly available GWAS data from the Cancer Genetic Markers of Susceptibility (CGEMS) study. We limited the cases to those with aggressive disease in an attempt to identify risk var...
متن کاملFactors associated with the functional independence level in older adults
Introduction: Functional independence in old age refers to active presence in daily life. One of the best ways to evaluate the functional independence of elderly is assessing the level of activities. This study aims to determine the status of functional independence in performing instrumental and daily activities as well as its related factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study was cond...
متن کاملLIN28B polymorphisms are associated with central precocious puberty and early puberty in girls
PURPOSE Single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers within LIN28B have been reported to be related to the timing of pubertal growth. However, no study has investigated the frequency of genetic markers in girls with precocious puberty (PP) or early puberty (EP). This study aimed to determine the frequency of putative genetic markers in girls with PP or EP. METHODS Genomic DNAs were obtained f...
